Dr. Munschauer grew up in Buffalo, NY. He received his B.S. degree from the University of Vermont in 1975 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degree from Cornell University in 1979. He practiced in Western New York State and New York City before returning to Vermont in 1986. In 1988 he purchased the Middlebury Animal Hospital from Dr. Arthur Greiner and the rest is history. Besides clinical practice Dr. Munschauer has taught at Vermont Technical College in Randolph, VT and was a Kirk Practitioner in Residence at the Cornell University Hospital for Animals. He has had leadership roles in the Vermont Veterinary Medical Society (VVMA) and the American Veterinary Medical Society. In 2002 he received the David Walker Award from the VVMA, the association's highest honor.
Dr. Sutor was born and raised in a little Minnesota town, just like Bob Dylan (and the two of them have never been photographed together). As a child he dreamt of a career as a professional baseball player but has finally come to the realization that this is very unlikely to pan out. He graduated from St Olaf College back when the telephone was still tethered to the wall and was used for talking to another person. Legend has it he earned a Veterinary degree from Cornell. He has two fabulous children, a daughter and a son who do not seem embarrassed to have him as a father. He currently lives in Sailsbury, VT with his lovely and talented partner, Ellen, who tolerates most of his eccentricities. They share the premises with more critters than they can count on their combined fingers and toes. He spends his free time brewing beer, hiking in the woods, and thinking about maintaining his 150 year old farm house.
Dr.Doran graduated in 1998 from the University of Pennsylvania's school of Veterinary Medicine. While there,he travelled to the Audubon Zoo of New Orleans and the Virginia Wildlife Center to complete Veterinary externships. Since graduation, his family has lived in New Jersey and South Carolina, before deciding that Vermont was a very good place to settle down.
Dr. Doran spends his time outside the hospital volunteer coaching youth soccer programs in the community. He is also a competitive tennis player for the locally renowned Midd-Hitman and other tennis teams. His wife promises there will be no more pets in the near future, but he does not have much faith in that statement. His family consists of a brilliant and loving wife, two incredible children, dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish and a frog. Maybe some birds in the future…?
Dr. Winters hails from a small town in upstate New York near the Canadian border. As a child, she vexed her mother by bringing home a constant parade of homeless animals, a practice that continues to this day. She received her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and her Veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1997. Following graduation, Dr. Winters completed an internship at the renowned Animal Medical Center in New York City. She lives in East Middlebury, Vt with her husband, Dr. Doran, their two terrific children, and a menagerie of four legged and finned dependents. Dr. Winters spends her time chauffeuring kids, preparing incredible meals and enjoying life in beautiful Vermont.
